TANGLAW NG CLARET

Who are we?
Founded in June 1967, Claret School of Quezon City is one of the institutions in Quezon City. The school has been led by fourteen school directors, having Fr. Santiago Gonzales, CMF as the inaugural titleholder and Fr. Efren Limpo, CMF as the incumbent.
Over the course of 49 years, the school has shared its vision, embodied its mission and made sure that its tales are worthwhile – enough to build a bridge from the yesteryear to the future.
Tanglaw ng Claret stood during these most prominent decades of the school’s development and progress.
Tanglaw ng Claret (Tanglaw), as defined by the School's Student Handbook (2016 revised edition), is the official publication of the High School Unit. It is a composition of staffers inclined in journalistic and creative writing.
Tanglaw was established in 1980, making it the longest existing extracurricular organization. It is the brainchild of Mrs. Susan H. Ramos, a former administrator of the High School Department and a distinguished Filipino teacher. Tanglaw is a Filipino word defined as a beacon in the darkness, or simply the light that illuminates a dark path and therefore, guides a journey. Its motto, “Let truth be told,” fortifies the fact that Tanglaw ng Claret satisfies a Claretian’s thirst for veracity. This school year 2016 – 2017, Tanglaw ng Claret shall release its thirty-sixth volume.
Aside from the newspaper, Tanglaw also distributes the literary portfolio (“litfolio”) and the Valentine’s magazine which showcase the Claretian’s artistry with respect to the given theme in form of prose, poetry, illustrations, photography and tweets. For the past four years, the literary portfolios are entitled “Tales of Our Time” (2013), “Memoirs” (2014) and “I Am” (2015).
The organization is active in disseminating necessary information online such as announcements and infographic posters. This is made possible through online posters promulgated on Facebook (www.facebook.com/TanglawCSQC) and Twitter (twitter.com/ClaretTanglaw). Photos of the school’s events can be found in the Facebook page of Tanglaw.
